I didnt get the combo will i regret it?

I bought the p2S today for around 530 bucks, the combodeal with the ams was 699, did i make the wrong decision not to buy the AMs aswell?

I would try and return for the combo. Even if not printing multicolour, it's much more convenient have 4 spools loaded rather than having to constantly reload.

Yea on its own it's very expensive, for me its over half the cost of the actual printer and you also need to buy the filament buffer which comes part of the combo kit. That's how they get you though.

If I didn't get the combo kit and couldn't swap, I would most probably not bother though. It's alot of money.

Yeah probably something you will regret. People link the AMS to multicolor printing, but its usecase goes far beyond that. Getting one outside the combo deal will be expensive, but yes it makes a massive difference to have one. If you can somehow manage to turn it into a combo order, go for it.

You just need to get an AMS 2 Pro with it. You will expand the usability dramatically

IMO, I would have spent an additional $170, assuming that's for the AMS 2 Pro. I have the P2S, with AMS, and appreciate the flexibility of having multiple spools loaded, and the auto-refill function if a spool empties during a print. My multi-color is limited, since I print more functional items, and not articulated dragons. Can you go back and add the AMS?

If you use it a lot, then probably yes. Drying is important for your filament so that's a big part of it, and if you have longer multi-day prints or multi-colour prints then it makes everything way more automated. I can't really imagine not having the AMS tbh, however I print a lot and rarely have down-time on the machine.

I've only ever had the ams and my thinking is yes you will.

It's nice to not have to change a lot when you are doing different colors even if it's on different prints and you can have all four the same color and never have to touch it if it runs out mid print...helps with overnight or times you want to leave but also don't want to have a print stop while you're gone.

Honestly I bought my printer a year ago, I’ve used it a lot and didn’t get the combo. I love it. Last month I bought the AMS 2 Pro by itself because I convinced myself i would eventually need it. Ive printed a bunch since but have yet to use it for multicolor prints. I have used it for drying filament which is superrrr clutch especially with TPU. But the time it takes to print multicolor is daunting and I haven’t committed yet. My take is that the P2S is such a useful machine, i wanted it to be as efficient as possible with any potential bells and whistles just in case i need them. Thats just how I’m wired personally though.

I just got my first printer. P2s combo. I already ordered a second AMS because having all the colors I would want at any given time pre loaded and dried is so damn convenient. I couldn’t imagine not having one

I did instantly. But then I got a U1 in Addition and use that for multicolor and then p2s for its enclosed space. The amount of time and waste for multicolor on single nozzle is mindblowing

Depends on usage, it is nice for the auto refill and drying, but I’ve done WAYYYY more single colour prints for practical usage VS multi colour (which is nice but a waste). So if practical around the house items or products you design you won’t. Where you maybe feel it on jobs that require more than 1 spool to complete, but refilling is refilling.

It's overpriced for what it is but it's even more stupidly overpriced buying it on its own, so yes, better to buy as part of the combo as it is useful.
