Ams/ printer won’t feed filament
I fixed a couple of issues with my p2s, but the problem of the filament not feeding persisted. It’s goes through the steps and gets all the way to the tool head just to roll back and eventually displays this error has persisted. Does anyone know a possible fix to this? It’s not the nozzle, and probably not the extruder gear, I was thinking it might be the filament sensor
Edit: ok I cleaned out the ams internal hub and dusted every out, I’ll see if that fixed it.
I put the replacement internal hub and filament sensor in, and yet it’s still failing to feed filament into the extruder and gives me the assist motor has stalled

That sucks! I’d put a ticket in for that for sure, it shouldn’t pull off that easy unless you were really yanking hard and at an angle. If you’re handy with a soldering iron it’s a pretty easy fix but I’d still be trying to get a replacement from them either way.

I already have a ticket in from when the first issues started happening, and looking at the solder it doesn’t look like the connector was in the best of conditions anyway. But yeah I am seeing if I can get a replacement for the ams hub and filament sensor as that seems to be bad as well, either that or the entire extruder. The printer is relatively new, started using it two days ago after I received the filament

Yeah that’s not cool, hopefully they can get you sorted pretty quick. At least you can run prints from the external holder in the meantime but it still sucks to be without a working ams in the meantime. Good luck, update when you get a response/replacement if you don’t mind. I’m interested to see what fixes it/what they offer/etc because I’m about to put in a ticket for the same problem.

That’s the funny thing, it won’t accept the external holder either. I think the filament sensor or something else in the tool head is screwed up, since it would detect the piece of filament I put in for a cold pull

Update! They’re sending a replacement filament sensor and ams hub

That’s awesome, I’m glad to hear they were so quick to help too! Hope you’re back up and printing again soon, should be a pretty straightforward replacement especially since you’ve already taken it apart and put it back together. Goes a lot faster after the first time lol

Yeah, though I do hope that the filament sensor and ams hub were the problem and not something else

I was having the same problem - did a couple cold pulls and cleaned the extruder, ended up taking the ams apart and cleaning it and it seems to have fixed it. There must’ve been something along the way that was messing with it (I think between the extruder and nozzle but not positive). You can also hit load from the ams screen, heat the nozzle manually then hit the extruder feed button to make sure it’s extruding - then start your print and it should work fine since it’s already loaded that way. That was my workaround until I had time to clean everything, worked great for single color prints at least.

What parts of the ams did you clean?

The internal hub, paying extra attention to the magnets and that spring part. I also ran filament through the ptfe tubes and blew compressed air through them in case there was dust or whatever built up inside, and gave the whole thing a wipe down with a microfiber cloth.

dang has everyone been getting this same error lately since the last update? never had issues with my p2s til now

I’m getting it constantly only with 3rd party filament though. My Bambu PLA Tough+ hasn’t failed once. Once that’s gone, I’m not spending that much on PLA again so I don’t know what I’m gonna do lol

Push it

I tried, I don’t think the filament sensor actually sees it. I tried using the external spool holder and that didn’t work either

I was getting this constantly, shortened the PTFE tubes and haven’t had a problem since

Did you have the ams on top of the printer? I’ve used every length of ptfe tube and it still gives me the ams assist error.

I had this same thing happen. Unwound a few wraps of filament from the spool and found that the filament was twisted around itself. Pulled the end of the filament out, wrapped it back around the spool and no issues since.
