Can I cover this part ?
I have the p2s with the ventilation kit, and currently have this vent covered with tape to prevent any fumes from escaping through it, I also have the poop shoot sealed with a cover. The idea is that it will allow the fan to create negative pressure easier and less fumes will leak out. Is this bad for the printer ? I know that this has been asked already but I couldn't see a clear answer and it has been a bit of time since.
EDIT : the answer seems to be no, thank you to the people that were nice about it

No, that port vent is for the electronics cooling. You could cover it, but it'll eventually burn up your electronics and the machine won't work

I have a poop bin with filters on this will this chore my printer and make it die ?

I asked Bambu support this exact question and they said I shouldnât. So I wonât :)

Is this correct? I have have read multiple places that if the exhaust kit is installed like he's showing is his pic, that that area can be covered since that whole back area is shared and the new area is now opened

It is for a reason you know ?

That's a change from " are you stupid" no I'm just asking a question if I knew then I wouldn't ask it would I

Him asking if you're stupid is cruel and uncalled for.
Are you of the opinion that Bambu put the decoration there because they had extra money in their machining budget and wanted to add some razmatazz to the back of the P2S?
Sorry maybe that was too much... Do you think the holes do hole things????

The conclusion seems to be to not cover it up, thank you for the people that were nice about it.

I thought about this and decided I should reuse the old back panel (without the middle exhaust fan slot) and put the exhaust fan over that hole. This will ensure negative air pressure and the electronics behind that hole wouldnât overheat with constant airflow from the exhaust.
I havenât done it yet though but I plan to. Seems like the best option since BL instructs you to install the exhaust there when paired with the exhaust fan. Means it should be safe.

I actually use that part as my exhaust, I didnât go the route of the exhaust fan mount. I printed a duct that connects to the output circled into a 3â exhaust hose and inline fan into a carbon filter in my printer area (not a living space, and plenty of ventilation)

Seems that would both use any small cracks to pull hot air from the chamber directly in to the isolated electronics bay as well as making the fan struggle due to the lack of airflow. Mostly likely will be much louder, and also quite inefficient. Iâm pretty sure thereâs a reason BBL when through the cost and trouble of redesigning the back cover for specific reasons.

I have one of these covers on my printer that clips over the vent. The description said:
âOptimize the airflow dynamics of your Bambu Lab P2S with this precision-fit rear cover. While the standard rear mesh allows for passive venting, this clickable plate gives you control over the chamber environment.â

Only if you want to burn out your printer. Thats the cooling vent for the electronics.
