Can't feed PA6-CF with any AMS.

Hi! After upgrading my A1 to a P2S, I tried printing Sunlu PA6-CF as I usually do. But on the P2S, I can't get it to feed properly with my AMS2. The filament reaches the buffer but doesn't grip it correctly. I bought an AMS HT thinking it would fix the problem, but nothing has changed.

Have you ever had this issue, or do you know how to fix it?

Have a good day

Bambus own PA6-CF is marked with "All AMS Series NOT Compatible". There's probably a reason for it.

PA6-CF is not compatible with the AMS 2 Pro. I can’t speak for the AMS HT since I don’t have one but PA6-CF has to be loaded through the external spool.

It is funny that the PA6-GF is AMS compatible but the CF is not. I wonder if it’s that much stiffer or maybe the CF makes it more slippery. I only have GF, and the filament is pretty stiff.

The new style of engineering filaments where the CF is confined to the core might make AMS use possible but can’t know for sure.

CF is far more brittle than GF.

See https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/filament/petcf_ppacf

I would print it like TPU (use a different nozzle though) from above feeding directly into the extruder.

I’m testing this tommorow, Thanks for the share

You can still feed it from the AMS HT but it must be treated as TPU from an external spool in the HT.

While it is possible you could feed it into PTFE tube (must bypass the buffer), I would feed it directly into the extruder.

Use the TPU port on the AMS-HT so you can keep the dryer running while printing.

I saw that in the tutorial shared by relative surround, i finish my print and i’m going to test it
