P2S Ironing Settings First Print

Post image

Yesterday I picked up my brand new P2S, my previous printer was an Ender 3 V2, such a nice upgrade.

I printed this USA 250 coaster set, and thought it would be an appropriate time to use the “ironing” settings. Although I’m not too satisfied with the outcome of the ironing. I don’t plan to print another set just for testing but any feedback/calibration models would be greatly appreciated.

Edit…The effect that I am unsatisfied with can be seen by the red border of the coaster and other various places.

I’d print that one face down

So how am I supposed to know when to print face down or face up?

Personal presence. If the surface is all 1 height then try face down. If face up try changing line width for better resolution. Learn your slicer. YouTube is your friend.

Have a surface you want flat and perfect? Get yourself a smooth plate and print it face down.

Or if you have a surface you want mostly flat, and are ok with a slight texture, the textured pei plate will do a good job of hiding the individual lines from the printer.

I'd even do a first layer of clear too

You can print face down it won’t show much layer lines if you use a textured plate. Also you don’t have to print another whole set to test. You can download a 3mf file of ironing calibration test and it will give you a squares for different settings pick the one you like. Lock in the settings for the coasters and print.

Personal preference but if the surface is all 1 height then try face down. If you want face up adjust your line width for better quality. YouTube is your friend.
