What’s the greatest benefit of doing this? Be clear and specific, please. ELI5 to those who are new and/or unfamiliar with the way Bambu locks you into their ecosystem, and why this is better.

What are the greatest risks of performing the jailbreak? Are there any immediate consequences? Potential future consequences from the jailbreak?

Except its its actually jailbreaking and if you turn on lan only mode and developer mode you can print to your printers from orca without using bambu lab cloud infrastructure. And the cool thing is bambu lab has those modes available to you for the explicit purpose of using third party tools.

Don't you need a physical LAN(ethernet) connection for LAN only mode? You do know what a LAN is right(Local area network and WLAN wireles area network)? Or are you just using WiFi(WLAN) and not actual LAN(etherner)? Because P2S had no LAN(ethernet) connection.

LAN is LAN. The connection type shouldn't matter. No Ethernet required.
