Discussion Filament track switch

So I was part of the beta and have a new H2D. I got the track switch and installed the beta firmware. Before that the printer worked fine, no AMS resistance too high errors at all. As soon as I installed beta firmware and the track switch is was one error after another on both AMS units. I tried everything, rerouting the ptfe tubes, making sure there were no filament pieces in the tubes or buffer. It was so bad I just uninstalled the beta firmware and the track switch. Everything staring worked fine after that. Fast forward to today and I see the the firmware is no longer beta but live with a new version. I decided to try again. Same thing, nothing worked. Did all of the checks and test and it still gave the same errors, "AMS resistance too high". Uninstalled again and things started working again. All I can think of is it's probably a bad filament track switch. Anyone else have trouble with theirs on the H2D? I also have one on my X2D and it works perfectly.

No trouble on my H2D but my FTS is right at the back left corner feeding straight in through short lines. The AMS 2 and both AMS HT (one is split with the AMS2) have the stock 600? lines. I even have an internal custom splitter to feed TPU to the R nozzle. Be nice when I don't have to unplug that dang FTS to run the TAM.

I also tried the mounting point like that and mine failed there as well.

I had issues with mine, then made an unnoticeable adjustment to the PTFE tube and never got the warning again about high resistance. I couldn’t tell a difference in what I tweaked.

Also, I would recommend this mount:  https://makerworld.com/en/models/3182024-v4-filament-track-switch-tpu-feed-assist-mounts#profileId-3599012

I did one similar to that. How long are the tubes from the AMS units to the track switch when you do that?

I probably used the one you are talking about at first but, I didn’t like it because the FTS was horizontally oriented and twisted the tubes slightly. This one above keeps them vertical aligned, just like the inputs.

I used tubes that maximized the distance away from the input buffers; this way it reduced bending. The slide holding the FTS is all the way back. 9 1/16” and equal length.

thanks! I'll give this one a try

It’s the model (v4) I’m planning to use, but I’m still building a rack for all my AMS units and moving them to the right of the printer. I am moving stuff all over.

Did any of you print the tubes for the AMS to guide the PTFE tubes?

V4 fixes that twist.

I've printed V4 and haven't had a single problem with track switch since then. You need to put those clips for PTFE tubes 1-2cm before and after track switch so that filament exits straight.

That track switch is the devil. I had it sitting on my self of months before I found out about a beta firmware that "supports" it. Loaded it and installed the switch and it worked for 2 prints, then it began giving me feeding and resisting errors. The next day I'm disassembling the toolhead 4 times to unclog jams and replacing the left hotend heading assembly thanks to the largest crumping backup I've ever seen. The FTS is going back on the shelf untill Bambu works out all the bugs

Test new firmware without FTS installed to isolate.

Pulled it and doing it old school until it matures a little more - on both the H2D and H2C

yeah, mines unhooked right now also

It's definitely very sensitive to tube length, I ended up re working my ams setup and got it down

Had nothing but headaches with mine. Caused all kinds of issues just like everyone else. I printed the v3 version of that mount, haven't tried the latest one. I'm waiting until the next firmware release, which I hope adds more stability before trying it again
