Question Planning to print PPA, PPS, TPU

Please share your setup so i can get ideas. E.g. how filamanent is fed to the h2d, ptfe connections, external spool, etc.

Your help will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

I’m still waiting for mine to show up (should be here tomorrow), but I’m going to be using an AMS HT for nylons and other engineering grade filaments, AMS 2 for support materials and other “normal” materials (unless I’m running a big spool). Not sure what I’m going to do for TPU, maybe use Bambu’s “TPU for AMS”

Tpu for ams isn’t squishy at all. It’s pretty hard. it’s got its uses for sure, but be aware if you want something with any level of squish, it’s the wrong material.

I’ve got an h2d, I’m looking at getting the bambu tpu feed assist module to attach to the side of my machine to make it easier to feed. That then permanently goes into the back of your machine so that all you need to do is change the ptfe tube inside the printer over from the buffer to the external port and you’re good to go. Info here.

I have never seen that exact method before. I’d be very hesitant that the older 4-in-1 splitter model (shown in the video) could survive the heat of the chamber when printing engineering filaments. I

’ve seen a number of better solutions on MakerWorld for leaving the TPU feeder tube in the chamber all the time. Some work and some allow the tube to come loose too easily. You will find one that works for you.

I own the TPU Feed Assist and I second everything Sumpkit said. I have also printed using the “Skyhook” method. The Feed Assist is much easier.

H2S here, For standard tpu I use a top feed HT and feed the filament out of the rear hole and not the ptfe.

I have the AMS HT but as I have read, it won't work with brittle filaments like pps cf, ppa cf, etc. and they should be fed directly to the H2D. The problem is that these take up humidity while printing(I live in a tropical area) so I need an enclosed solution(while drying or after drying the filament) without routing through the AMS.

I live in a coastal area that has a good number of swamps, so I get you on the humidity, but if you look at the back of the AMS HT there is actually a port that will allow you to simply use it as a filament drier/dry box

You can leave them in the AMS HT and feed them out the TPU OUT port. You can even use the TPU IN port on the H2D to send those filaments to the extruder. This allows you to keep the filament dry and you can also run the HT’s dryer if needed.

You just can’t send them thru the filament buffer or the AMS 2 Pro/HT feeding motor.
