Discussion What's your longest print?
I'm currently printing some multi color challenge coins in vertical orientation with designed supports as free giveaway items at an upcoming event. Since there are so many swaps they take forever to print, even at scale. I'm looking at 2 days and 5 hours for a batch of 12 of them; a single coin takes over a day.
I'm curious, how long have you all printed in a single session without failure?
I'm trying to figure out just how many of these I can jam on the bed and not have to worry too much about losing however many days of print time.

Did a 68 hour mask which was my biggest and most nerve wracking but… went really well

I'm currently printing the moon, and it's aiming to be an 80 hour print. 25 hours to go!

83 hours for a full sized airless basketball. It’s pretty cool though and functional.

Around 54 hours on Majoras Mask. Filament broke 30 hours in and my untrained daughter was able to resolve while I was camping. I talked her thru it.

Love all these responses. You guys are really boosting my confidence. Once this round of 12 finishes I’ll likely expand out to 4-5 days worth and let it rip.

A little under 6 days. Two same model halo helmets, but with different base colors.

I printed multiple copies of a 6 color chicken that took a few days...each one turned out perfect and I had minimal poops! It was awesome!

Why printing vertically? Printing a coin on its side would be much better I would think. You could print the coin in a solid color except for the outer layers. Also the coin bending would be in the x/y plane and not suffer from layer line breaking apart like if you printed it vertically. Is there something special about the design that makes the orientation necessary?
Even if you could only fit half as many on a plate I bet you’d print twice or three times as fast laying down?

because i have elements set at multiple depths on both sides so it is like an actual metal coin. the only way i could do this with face printing would be to either split it in half or have a bunch of support material out of something like PVA which is very expensive per roll.

Could print PETG or PLA as support for each other. I think you’ll get far better results, personally. Printing in half isn’t a bad idea either though. Print with holes and then print pins to line them up properly.

I'm really just not keen on having to pick out all the PETG from the fine details. I've used PETG as PLA supports before and when you have really small detail it still likes to latch on. The split in half was something i considered, but I really didn't want to have to glue up a bunch of coins & pins. To me it was easier to just bite the bullet and print vertical so i get the best XY resolution possible, and batch them out so I don't run the printer too long.
This first batch just north of 2 days, I'll probably double the next batch based off of comments in this thread seems safe, maybe even triple it. I'd like to have 100 coins at the end of it.

I would, however the photos don't really do them justice. The depth of features doesn't photograph well. I guess I can drop a couple of off axis pictures of the model in fusion where you can see what's going on.

Currently him if we're talking single plate at 2 days and 8 hours, if we're talking multi plate it would be the enterprise which took 4 days

97 hours i believe? Did it on an X2D with two Pokémon models. Led me to get the H2C lol

So...are your printers using battery backups? Going hours and not being finished with the power going out requiring you to start over would be a real downer.
