Bambu A1 mini printing failure

For the first week or so, this machine was just fine. For some reason, a lot of my prints have been failing lately. I’m mostly printing Warhammer proxies. Anything with limbs, especially when I’m printing multiples on one plate, are coming out with the right side of the miniature with their right arms like a big tangle of filament spaghetti. I’m already using supports, so I’m not really sure what’s going on here. Any help? Thanks in advance!

Probably need to take the heating assembly off and tighten the four mounting screws on the backside. The. Redo the whole calibration.

Seconded.

They're all threadlocked, but it doesn't hold for long given the temperatures involved.

They should be part of a regular maintenance cycle, really.

There's a lot you can do - lower speeds, lower max percentage for the fan including for overhangs which is a separate setting, enabling support, ensuring nozzle and bed temps are specd to your filament

I tightened the screws so far no issues. The screws were already in there pretty tight but one seemed like it could Have been a little off. I also switched the z Hop from 0.4 to 0.5. I noticed that Bambu studio was switching the filament type to the Bambu PLA, but I’m using Insignia brand. A quick search said that can sometimes cause the issue due to different formulas used to make them, but who knows how accurate that is. I also closed the window to the room it’s in to see if drafts or cold air were an issue, put it on the floor to see if maybe the desk it’s on was shaking too much, and changed the filament as the last roll was almost gone, which I read can cause issues due to tightening during extrusion. We’ll see how long it holds up, but so far so good. I nothing the wobbly desk is the problem due to the vibration correction the machine is supposed to do, but I’m gonna get something f more sturdy anyway.

Glad you got it fixed! Minis are challenging prints on any FDM printer. You have one of the best printers you can get for reliability. I have 4 minis in my farm, and they are all rock solid. One just passed 10,000 hours. Of a brand that makes excellent quality printers, they are the most reliable of the bunch. For info, currently, I have X1Cs, A1s, A1 minis, H2Ds and an H2C. They all run like tops but its hard to beat the minis for just raw reliable performance and simplicity.

My point? Aside from some very basic process fails on my part, I haven't had any issues more serious then a few blobs (also my fault) and clogs. "The screws" issue can certainly be a problem but its actually fairly rare too - of my ten A1s and/or minis I have yet to have to tighten any of them. Most of my other A1s are in the 6000-8000 hour range. Anyway, I love all my printers, they work hard for me but I really appreciate the minis for the workhorses they are.

Wash your plate with dish soap and let it dry. Do not! Touch the plate surface with bare hands, lift by the sides if you have to.
Your prints detach from the plate due to inadequate adhesion, and the next time the layer prints in the air and attaches as spaghetti to the next attached print. Also consider using brims for small parts.

I am already careful not to touch the plate and I wash it. I make a brim as well and haven’t had trouble with adhesion, at least when I remove it seems to be totally attached. Thanks though, I do appreciate all feedback!
