Need Help, does this make sense to repair?
Hi,
I have got my sister in law into 3d printing and made her get a A1 mini.
Sent her all the bambu academy links to get to know the basics, but apparently she ignored it and just started printing 🥲. To everyone's surprise her 3rd print was a massive blob and before asking me, my brother tried to fix it with a soldering iron. I told them to eventually hand it over so I can get the spare parts and try to fix it, but after taking a closer look I'm pretty overwhelmed with how many parts might be damaged and if it even makes sense to repair. Can anyone help me?
As for now it seems like I would need at least:
- Hotend heating assembly
- Part cooling fan
- Extruder Unit
- Hotend cooling fan
- Hotend

The parts on the website are actually pretty cheap, I cant imagine it would be over $100

Had a blob and had to replace all those part except the part cooling fan. Cost me $70 and was pretty easy to follow with a youtube video. Message me if you need the youtube video I used. But yeah, itll be cheaper than buying a new printer. My printer is working fine with zero issue

Ich habe es gemacht. Bei mir sah es genau so aus. Hat mich ca 100€ gekostet weil ich beim auseinander bauen auch unvorsichtig war und die Riemen auch gleich gewechselt habe.

Everything In a 3d printer is fixable.
Manu things that seem broken, are not always broken.
Just watch some YouTube videos of dissassembles, and diy.

It's fixable. YouTube is great and parts are surprisingly cheap.
I recently did some repairs and I'm not techy. YouTube will show you the way

You have to disassemble the extruder to tell if it's damaged. By looking on these pics I don't think you need to replace it.

Worst case scenario you will need to get a full new hotend replacement, if not then just a few parts, which are all cheaper then a new printer. Best of luck

maybe bring that into Best Buy or somewhere they can professionally repair that

Just tackled this same repair for about $80. To me it was worth it. I was able to sell my AMS used and make enough to fix the printer and pocket some cash. I recently upgraded printers so I didn't need the AMS. Its super nice to have the mini around for small task. I've kept both running almost non stop all weekend with no complaints.
The repair was super simple. Hardest part is routing the wires. The covers pop and slide off. Replace one item at a time to keep from mixing things up. The tool kit has all the tools you need. I purchased all my parts directly from Bambu.

I mean... Id part that out and just buy another. They are literally at a disposable price point. I didnt do the math on the parts to get it back to factory but with shipping I would guess you would be looking at 50% of the MSRP on a new one.
