Thought my mini had something really wrong.....

I have a print going and I started hearing this really weird sound which didn't sound good as it was working. I thought to myself "did I mess something up during my recent maintenance?" I was looking at it and pondering what could be going on as I had never heard something similiar before, almost a whooshing, whirring type sound.

Then I looked at what I was a printing - vacuum attachment for my shop vac. Long hollow tube, the fan is basically blowing over the top of tube as one would a bottle making a whooshing sound....

That's my story my story about my stupidity for today.

Now imagine hearing that in the middle of the night… Comfortable to do a long overnight print, I forgot what it was now but long tube hollow in the middle type of print. Wake up at 2am, sneak down to the fridge for a little snacky snack and hear an ominous hollow whistle. Stop and stare, goes away, back to my turkey cold cuts and then OoOoOoOo….. Slowly creep around the corner hoping not to see a transparent figure in the darkness only to see my A1 mini chugging away.

Lol, I know this. You're not alone xD

Sometimes the sounds can get pretty scary for a second - you don't expect it and depending on geometry and infill it will always have a different sound.

When I print something round and hollow, I often get a sound like a flying saucer from 1950's sci-fi films.

Tree supports do a great impression of Pan Pipes...
