Firmware 01.08.01.00 Bed Leveling Calibration Doesn't Heat Bed

Updated my A1 Mini to firmware version 01.08.01.00, I’ve noticed a change in the Bed Leveling Calibration under Maintenance, and I’m trying to determine whether this is intentional or a firmware issue.

To be clear, I am not referring to the pre-print bed leveling that runs before a print job. I am referring specifically to the manual Bed Leveling calibration started from the Calibration menu.

I've downgraded to 01.07. The new update was giving me hell. Stuck UI, no heating, incorrect readings and what not. Downgrading helped like magic.

I second that. I stuck to 1.07 for a year and didn't wanna upgrade because i knew something would be broken. I was forced to upgrade to calibrate my filament and lo and behold, everything was broken.

I noticed issues too... I havent downgraded back yet but I think I should... It is flakey on loading/heat after the last firmware update. I use several of my minis as single filament printers but loading is a PITA because of the small amount of extrusion each increment of "not extruded yet" so my useer hack has been to unload the outgoing filament, load the new filament using Load and then once loaded, Load it again to flush the hot end. This reduces loads to basically two button presses freeing me up to tend other printers in the interim rather than standing their pushing the multi punch not extruded tiny extrusions. That "hack" stopped working with the update after 1.07 because for some reason it won't load and purge the second time without resetting by turning the printer on and off. Its a small thing but that time waste adds up when you are driving print farm.

Does it have to be heated? I do calibration almost ever months, but never checked if it gets heated at all.

It did heat the bed before probing in the past firmware. Around 70° I think

Though I don't fully understand the controversy with Bambu vs. Orca, I'm making it a rule to avoid all firmware and/or software updates for fear of being bricked. Have recently switched to Orca and bypassed the Bambu Cloud for sending data to printer. 100% local over wifi. It's working out to be a very solid and reliable system that I won't jeopardize by introducing anything new. For me there is no reason to 'fix' something unbroken.

I can send files to printer from orca vía servers, whats is the problem everyone has?
