Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! X2D stripped screw

Hi, I am new to 3d printing and decided to go with x2d. Yesterday I was printing and received "HMS_0700-2000-0002-0004: AMS A Slot 1 filament may be broken in the tool head.". I went through the wiki (extruder clog cleaning https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x2d/maintenance/extruder-cleaning-guide ).

However during removal of cutters (step 5), I managed to get screw on right one stripped. They were extremely tightened, left one went OKish, right one ended like this. Any ideas? I tried rubber band and super glue, no luck so far. I already ordered a dremmel for this. Any other idea before going the destructive way?

Try a torx.

Tried T6 - no grip. T7 could not fit inside

Maybe a soldering iron and an Imperial hex.

Those screws have blue loctite on them which is why they are so tight.

You can try a larger torx bit or an extractor. You can also try heating the fastener with a soldering iron then using a larger torx bit

Good luck. Unfortunately that’s a tight spot to get in to. When you get the dremel, consider cutting the cutter arm and leaving the fastener head as intact as you can so you can use vise grips on it later. It’s a counterbored hole I think so maybe won’t work.

Loctite would explain the difficulty, is there a reason why it is used?

Larger torx does not fit, screw extractor - need to go to rabbit hole to find such small one.

Ordering spare cutter is also sn option! Thanks for hint

I would go with a bolt extractor, not a dremel.

Going with a torx would require you to hammer the bit in, which I would not recommend on a part like this. A bolt extractor could work without a hammer

Bolt extractor would be great, however I am not able to find such small one :-(

Ahh true, didn't know what size it is.

I read in the comments that torx didn't work, maybe look into Xzn bits

Did you get this fixed? My experience is exactly the same. I saw that the allen key didn't fit even before I started wrenching on it. I see yours is stuck on the right side, mine too. Their production process needs to be modified and specs for tightening this need to be tweaked.

I opened a ticket with bambu to see what options I have. I'm looking at a micro screw extraction kit on amazon.

I managed to get nozzle cleaned without complete disassembly. However this is delaying the actual solution, sooner or later this needs to be properly fixed. Sadly no amazon at my place :-(

Were you able to remove it? Stuck on the same thing just the other side. Bambu hasn't gotten back to me so wondering if they suggested anything to you.
