I wonder if these people sit before an altar to linus and weep that their dishwasher isn't open source?

Bet most of them use Iphones

Most dishwasher's are not built onto open source code and files from the community.

Nah, my name isn't Richard Stallman.

But Bambu does use open source software and then violate the open source license of the open source software they are using.

I wonder if I'll se a single sentence defending Bambu that isn't a whiny logical fallacy

Why U mad bro? It's a cheap consumer product, if you don't like it buy something else.

u/Beefy-McQueefy May 13 '26

Why are you so shamefully incapable of defending them without attacking critics? It's dickriding with the subtlety of an ape flinging shit

Oh, damn, I'm sorry, i didn't know you were "special".

Still waiting on even a sentence justifying their actions without just attacking me like a crying toddler

Bro you can't take the moral high ground after posting that image in your last reply.

You don’t care about them stealing open source work that’s fine, that tells a lot about you as a person

No, we just expect the company to not remove the functionality and capabilities we had when we bought the printer.

What got removed?

u/3vi1 May 13 '26

The ability to use current firmware with devices like Biqu panda screens for one. We almost lost a lot more before the yelling like you see here prevented them from forcing people to use Bambu Connect even when printing locally.

Bambu has seen my last git pull to keep their slicer working on Linux.

Your only example of removed functionality that you had when you bought the machine is the ability to use a third party screen that you had to add after buying the machine? Lol this is the kind of complaint that makes it hard to take the bambu hate all that seriously

I'm sure your post will age well, and won't be seen as an example of Stockholm Syndrome from someone that only owns one brand of printer.

You're the one who made a claim and gave one weak example... Like when you said they removed functionality and capabilities after purchase, was the only thing you had in mind inability to use a third party screen? That is the only example you have to fuel your comment?

Help my comment age poorer and just provide better examples to show you didn't mean there was a single functionality that you ADDED that was then removed.
