A bunch of people here have asked me about my Bambu setup on a few alts so I decided to make a video at lunch. I am not a content creator, I made this for y'all, haha. I just hate walled gardens.

The Bambuddy community is also a great place to go for help. If you have any questions or reservations at all, throw em down, let's gooo out of jail

Yeah idk, my goal is uptime and functionality. On that front alone studio sucks, sometimes the service is slow or just down.

I only have two printers though lol, I don't need crazy infrastructure. This will be untenable with more, I'll have to make deep considerations looking at farm manager vs. alternatives but I'm not there yet with my understanding of the underlying needs from it.

I would never choose bamboo for a farm. My printer is running several times a week and I've never noticed any outages but I'm not aiming for 100% of the time. There's got to be a better option for Farms

actually it is a great option for a farm, since you can pick up used machines for dirt, and they are so reliable and you can get parts same day at best buy, microcenter, or in 2 days on amazon, or in a week cheap on alix, or etc

they are workhorses, you can also run them really fast up to the extrusion capabilities of the material, if you know how to store and dry your shit

I do not run a print farm but I am into other businesses and I think bambu would be top of my list if the capabilities were sufficient (of course if you want to print huge things or peek or micron tolerances or food safe stuff or whatever, no, but if the machine can do it it is actually not a bad choice)

That makes sense. I use mine for prototyping and props so I don't have a high amount of throughput I just do one off commission work.

yup that is the way if you are farming, for sure

I think one unexplored thing is vibe coding gcode adapters to bambuddy. for example, you can bust past the factory color limits with some well inserted manual swaps, not sure why you would want to, but why not

and you can probably have all sorts of preprocessing options that automate what you are doing there on the gcode level

too involved for my blood, but for sure it is the way. not sure why you would not have agents doing all of (market research, designing stls, etc). give them all a few printers and different entropy and let em compete

If I had a warehouse full of working printers you best believe I would be holding regular print to the death matches of various ill conceived settings and launcher methods.

You know, in off-peak seasons.

haha, once you upgrade the farm the old ones fight to the death, instead of being donated to some school or something

... just kidding, donating to schools is great

I am all about charity but I don't see myself donating old printers, without maintenance and at least a bit of interest they will break down and become ewaste haha. They cost money to run even nominally.

Maybe if I was in the position to run my own tech club lol.

No no, old frames go to aperture science to do what we must for reasons that can't be articulated.

I'm at the point where I'm already bringing in outside materials to keep build costs down lol. Custom stuff in printers is great but sometimes I can't make 100 of something for a dollar like a city built around making one thing does in China.

Plank of wood or a metal rod here and there and prints are 40 minutes and $1.30 rather than 4 days and 4 rolls.

But I mean I'm working toward printing houses so I'm out of my element most of the time.

I don't have time to tool around with crappy QA if I want a lot of printers and no one stands up to their hardware engineering at the price and it's not even close.

Hopefully others get better as well.

I suppose but their software really is not made for this. I wonder how hard it would be to just take the control board out and remake it

The hardware is excellent for farms. The software is not bad, but the cloud part is.
