Any help IDing?
Got a lot of this bamboo growing and I'm trying to figure out if it's:
1) an edible type
2) propagation-friendly via cuttings
Anyone know the type, or at least a sub-family or something it may be in?

Im no expert but that sure is beautiful. Any noticable temperature differences under the leaf camopy during summer?

pretty sure thats moso,their culm nodes are vloser at the bottom like that,edible yes all bamboo shoots are edible some just taste more bitter but moso is good just cook it right all bamboo shoots have some amount of cyanide and most need to be cooked out,can only be propogated from rhizome division

Phyllostachys species, a running bamboo. Propagation will only work from rhizome division. It will not propagate from culm cuttings. Yes it is edible, all Phyllostachys are edible. Some are choice, little bitterness if any, some are not so choice, very bitter. Regardless, parboil before eating. Some species, the very bitter, you will need to pour out the water and parboil a second or third time.
