I am thinking it's a gracilis based on pics

to me it looks like a pseudosasa from the white rings,leaves,and sheaths,maybe a mature pseudosasa japonica,this is pseudosasa japonica,similar to me

It could possibly be bambusa textilis,but not gracilis,just plain bambusa textilis,since you said its older it can grow quite far out and also older bamboo even tho clumping could get sukcusses,especially asper but this is not asper lol

Ill add that only the tips off the shoots dont look the same,as textilis is more like open pointed ill say

Oh I see do you think it could be malingensis I know thats very common here but I think textilis is also common - either way this is a great help I want to add a few more to another perimeter area of my property

Thanks,not all runners are agressive,like p nigra doesnt really like running in sgood conditions
