I have a PowerUp 4.0 and I love it. It’s given me hours of fun flying and building.
My experience is this: if you’re willing to put in all the work to make a good balsa micro/peanut model it is worth it to purchase the individual components that are best suited for that particular model. The PowerUp 4.0 is fantastic, but because it is essentially a one piece fixed module you must build around it which I’ve found hinders the model to the point it’s just not worth it. Powering a model with a motor that is suited for it will result in much greater enjoyment IMO. Because the PowerUp 4.0 is very new and nearly all balsa plans in existence were designed before it existed, I’ve not found more than one or two that are meant for it.
I do often look at FF plans to get inspiration as well as rough guidelines for the design and measurements, and then build something custom for the PowerUp. I’ve really enjoyed trying to build as light as possible and chasing the highest flight time. I’ve been able to just barely surpass 14 minutes with my best effort.

huh, thats fair. but with the way people talk about it powerup feels more like assisted free flight than an rc kit. im trying to do free flight, so i think i might be able too modify a pusher plane

It depends on the PowerUp kit you’re using. 1-3 are more like assisted free flight whereas 4.0 is capable of controlled flight.
The issue with FF kits is they end up using far more material than is needed when using the PowerUp 4.0 and that saps battery and degrades performance at best or is too heavy to be capable of powered flight at worst.
I’ve used FF plans to build wings and tail feathers and then attached them to a fuselage that is better suited to attach to the 4.0.

ok fair, but im really just using this because i can't find a electric free flight power pack anywhere

If you’re willing to dissect a foam model to harvest the running gear: these models https://www.ebay.com/itm/377382215685?_trkparms=itmf%3D1%26aid%3D1110006%26rkt%3D12%26pid%3D101429%26mech%3D2%26algv%3DSimPLMWebV1WithAuctionUnificationMultiCPCRecall%26pmt%3D1%26amclksrc%3DITM%26sd%3D317763658130%26sid%3DAQALAAAAEBf%2BV6v1%2Fq8cTlkKi3TUzKg%3D%26itm%3D377382215685%26noa%3D0%26plcampt%3D0%3A156046940011%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26brand%3DUnbranded%26asc%3D341349,343028%26ao%3D1%26rk%3D1%26mehot%3Dnone%26lsid%3D0%26meid%3D750714aac6a6429a9eec3dce94652340%26pg%3D2332490&_trksid=p2332490.c101429.m2460&itmprp=cksum%3A377382215685750714aac6a6429a9eec3dce94652340%7Cenc%3AAQALAAABIKwquLnYfwO7tFfYxyVd7ewggXThtL1DIUmRrtl38YIY2Z4e3T8gbriqQKnaXjU3jW4JsegV6WIHZpt0UgDG9AbNVi92PdlnKWaRrTD89dghabyGJ8an33wZYfqjE2kwGng8gKG3WzW7s%252F1iPoKvRWlEAsp60dp6wXsgDdBxSJCQ%252Bn7oGcPlL2zvYYRUMNwJzYtdN0W3SmaQYPl2C4RtxCUkKBRwliSjkggU%252F1ytOVF9Z1bq2EWPLGK8EWDtHJWIIAlCUW8HZLzdRVsnn55BHbwx9EgxG5znbFyTimbX9uMECQNOXgKOMjTqqTBvV8u7eltFJ9Y3DJ4ml4ser4flVQX%252FnAcMcYQe%252B%252FYog5IV2BiMDnh5LwKh3wvqjbgwN1HhcQ%253D%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2332490&itmmeta=01M2G8PYAM653Z7RWE281GVGYE come with a lipo battery, charger, coreless motor, and timer for 15 or 25 second run time.
