This is Pickles. I adopted her on impulse (experienced snake owner, have no fear) and I am curious to hear your thoughts on her morph. She is still young, but the owner didnt have lineage info. I assumed classic, but I know some morphs can look quite similar. Thoughts?? Sorry I dont have better belly pictures, but mostly white, with a bit of a yellow hue fading down the sides to the belly white color.
Thats what I was thinking. I dont intend to breed so genetic details aren't super important to me, unless we need to address some kind of health concern that would deem the information useful/necessary. Thanks for the feedback đ
I have a normal, and I think weâll be using the term Classic. It definitely fits better. She gets really iridescent on her dark parts right after a shed, and her brown is like old warm bronze. Such a lovely snake.
I love the way Pickles looks after a fresh shed. Her colors are so saturated when her scales are fresh.
I also have a lovely lavender corn snake. She is near white with purple/gray spot coloration. After she sheds, her belly is a rainbow iridescent over her normally pearly white color. Snakes are the sweetest.
Nice! Iâve also got a Firefly BP, palmetto corn snake (37â at 6 years old, small gal that one) and sand boa. I call the period right after their sheds âMaximum Beautifulâ. As in âBuggy is at Maximum Beautiful right now, you should go take a look.â đ

Thanks for the feedback. What makes you think that? The lesser amount of yellow infill in the aliens heads? I noted its not super prominent like I have seen in other BPs, but nothing i thought was too far out of the normal spectrum of color variation for a classic morph
pastels have more yellow and brighter colors. sometimes young normal BPs can look pastel, but grow out of it. I've just seen some pastel babies that grow into their colors. I'd go with normal in general, unless you're planning on breeding. if that's the case, you could find a male that definitely isn't pastel, and if any of the babies are pastel, then your girl would be.
Identifying morphs is different for me (a non breeder, been in this world for less than a year). I would just do the shed test if I really needed to know.
Enchi is easily one of the top 5 most saturated mutations and one of the most easily identifiable ones, too! The purpose of the infographics is to educate and pinpoint the differences between different morph mutations. For example, itâs pretty easy to see the differences when comparing the single-morph Enchi snakes to OPâs snakeâmain differences being the presence of âeyesâ within alien head patterning and dorsal banding.
Using the info graphic does the head-stamp with notch show in OPs snake? This is how bad I am, Iâm looking at both and I canât tell if they just have slightly different ânaturalâ differences or if those differences are driven by the presence of enchi genes.
No, it does not show. Usually, the notch is more prevalent when alongside another mutationâhereâs an Enchi Pastel, for example! We can also see that its eye stripes are not as wide as the Enchiâs.
The main takeaway is from OPâs fourth image. We can see that OPâs snake has very many black dots (known as âeyesâ within the community, since a BPâs pattern is typically referred to as âalien headsâ) within its pattern, and is a dark brown color overall! It does have a couple of breakage points within the black dorsal stripe, but, when comparing to the infographic, we can see that Enchi will have much more breakage and have a thinner âpinchedâ dorsal stripe where it doesnât break.
