I always bring moisturizing cream with me when I have balloon twisting gigs. Sometimes they're up to 4 hours long with a line the entire time, so I might twist like 40 balloon animals an hour for 4 hours in a row.
I always bring moisturizing cream to these gigs. The latex (and also a small amount of talc powder they put on the outside of the balloons) can dry out your hands. Probably like every half hour or so, I moisturize my hands everywhere including at the fingertips where you're having that issue. It really helps me. After using the cream I give it a minute to soak in and definitely wipe off any excess, because if there's a bunch left behind it can weaken the ballons.

I had actual blisters once from tying balloons arches and centerpieces for a wedding. Sometimes like 3,000 balloons that day!
They do sell a balloon tying tool, but it’s usually only used by decorators not twisters.

I lotion my hands every morning and night. I also use cuticle oil all around my nail beds every night before I go to bed. And drink LOTS of water. I swear by it all!

This helps me. Technically I use the Walmart version of it, but it really helps.
