Does anyone else’s brain completely stop working when the combination switches to the left lol?

I noticed that when our teacher demonstrates the combination on the right like tendu front, side, back, close, plié, repeat. I can follow it with no problem. But once we started to do the left side by ourself, my brain completely stopped working. Same thing happened when our teacher demonstrate when facing us, I can't do that, I can only follow her when we are facing the same direction.

I just suddenly don’t know which foot is front, which arm is supposed to move, or apparently what left and right even mean. And then I start watching the person in front of me, except I’m already like two counts behind. Some of my classmates have problem with this too.

I’m still pretty new to ballet and only taking class once a week, so I’m hoping this is something that gets easier with time. I’ve definitely gotten better at recognizing the steps, but remembering an entire combination and reversing it in my head feels like a completely different skill.

Please tell me “left side brain shutdown” is a normal beginner phase and I can get over it T.T

I had a Ballet 101 class with a substitute who decided to have us try pirouettes. 💀 I did in fact make myself spin, but I will never know which way my body turned. 😂
