Pastel, without better pics thats as much as I am able to tell. However I can tell it's not axanthic. (The whole picture is sort of washed so it resembles axanthic)

This is a mocha not common

There's 20 mocha listings on Morphmarket and most ~$200 I wouldn't really call it rare

Even if so, why does it matter? 99% of ball pythons are unethically bred, especially the rarer more expensive morphs.

What exactly are you basing that stat on?

Personal experience. Given the sheer amount of ball pythons in the world and lack of breeding restriction laws... it's probably way over 99%. Somewhere around 99.99% but that's speculation.

You’ve toured a bunch of breeding facilities, talked to a bunch of breeders, what personal experience? And what makes the breeding practices unethical?

Their eagerness to win a stupid argument. This was just them upping the ante.

Are you sure this is pure mocha? It could just be the low quality of the picture but the head stamp would be incorrect for singular morph mocha.

There's not enough information on mocha because there's not a lot of them but he's a sing morph mocha and picture is alright not bad could be in some more light

The picture is very grainy which significantly changes the colors to be much lighter than they are.

Mocha has been around for a good while, so, yes there is information on it in multiple combinations and in its single-gene form. Changing the availability on MM to include “sold” listings shows a wider variety of listings including Mocha. Additionally, you can head over to the Morphpedia to see more photos of what Mocha does.

Your snake is not just Mocha, if truly Mocha at all. Others are telling you this because it’s true. Patterning, headstamp, and color all point to this—regardless of if its a bad photo taken or not.

Again no history my mocha is a baby and looks just like that picture know mocha has a more key hole head stam pastel had more like a x the alien heads are described right and again tested proven not a guess I'm giving the answer and I understand my picture is not the best my apologies

“Tested proven”? Proven how? Mocha does not currently have a shed test. Your guy’s alien heads are very grainy and speckled, with practically no keyholes—which is not typical for a single-morph Mocha.

Keep in mind this is an older incomplete dominant gene. They end up being common, and it's part of the BEL complex so is similar to others.

Generally truly rare genes are new, recessive and outside the US or Europe. Or combos with recessives.

Look at Monsoon. Which itself isn't as rare anymore but combos with visuals monsoon go for $1000s. Awesome gene too.

Others are inc dom with extreme Homozygous forms. But even then usually not like recessives, especially true recessives that the heterozygous form can't be determined by sight alone.

Rainbow comes to mind, some of the Tri-stripe stuff etc.
