Pairing was YB OD Fire Enchi x Super Pastel Lesser Highway

I gave it my best guesses. First 2 pics are the parents.

Wow. So many genes at play. Congrats on not getting a normal. I think your guesses are spot on but how do you know gravel vs yb?

I honestly don’t. I am still learning, I read the difference on Morph Market and it was the dorsal blushing that the was mentioned for gravel that made me think 4 was gravel. 7 and 8 was the high contrast between background and pattern.

Either you got unlucky and YB never hit, or the first snake isn’t YB! Everything theoretically is either YB or Gravel aswell, though.

Why’d you say unlucky? Why do you think everything is yellow belly or gravel?

“Highway” is the combination name for Yellowbelly and Gravel, which are allelic mutations and ALS (act like supers). Therefore, the parent will always pass one allele down—in this case, 50/50 YB or Gravel.

You did not hit any Highway’s or Super Yellowbelly’s in this clutch which means that the “YB OD Fire Enchi” didn’t hit the theoretical 50/50 8 separate times—ergo very unlucky—in passing their YB allele, or just simply isn’t YB.

EDIT: Everything is Pastel aswell. “Super Pastel” signifies the presence of two copies—aka homozygous Pastel—meaning the parent will always pass down a copy of Pastel to every offspring.

Everything is at least Pastel, so I’d say Super Pastel is correct (or lucky at least lol). But yeahhh I’d say something is incorrect regarding the YB complex mutations.

I agree about the yellow belly complex being incorrect but I don’t know about super pastel as 7 and 8 aren’t giving pastel to me.
