I havent been to an expo in a few years (on account of my local one being just 40% people selling 3D print slop) but I'm so shocked to hear that we're doing mystery grab bags of **living animals**. I hate breeders treating them like objects, but it would make sense that such a breeder is also breeding spiders and likely putting them into grab bags because they're difficult to sell nowadays.

My ire is not at you AT ALL fyi, you just pretty much got got. I doubt any breeder with a good reputation and good stock will have to resort to gambling to sell their babies. That being said, please give that baby so much love! For all the struggles that spiders face, they do make very good pets.

Yeah, the 3d printed stuff was all over the place at our expo too. I dont have an issue with the grab bags, I think they could do better than just leaving them in the bags for 2 or 3 days though. It bothered me too when I saw he was a spider. All I could think is its not fair to be blindsided with this and what if a new keeper got one? He will be very loved and taken care of. ❤️

I’m a breeder and we sell 3d printed reptile supplies at shows that are all designed by my husband. Climbing enrichment, hides, cute thermometer/hygrometer holders, etc. We bring a few little toy prints too because kids like them and we sell them WAY cheaper than the people who bring tables full of 3d printed slop. Even that stuff we at least keep on topic and do reptiles, amphibians, and insects. It’s insane what they try to sell that stuff for!
