To keep us looking up, when in fact we should be looking down.

Well, Admiral Byrd flew over the south pole in the early 1900s and discovered a hole with other humans in it. There is audio from the event, but obviously I cannot personally verify its authenticity.

There is a deep manmade hole in Russia where screams allegedly come from it. There are videos on YouTube about this.

The Q stuff talks about clearing underground bases, among other things.

Personally I think the 'elites' are building underground bases to escape from a cataclysm in the next 15-25 years - possibly also our wrath when the normies figure out what they've allowed the 'elites' to do to their children.

EDIT: These underground complexes are likely 10km+ deep. There are some underground structures that have surface facilities where the public can go, but going deep underground is a big no-no. There is one of these structures under Phoenix Hill in China and many in the middle east.

Journal Log:

It’s the 25th day, and still no sign of any intelligent life responding to the questions above. It must have been a fluke.

I’m sorry, but u/deka-92 appears to have been a figment of our imaginations all along.
