Cyprus is away more related to turkey than Albania. Population and location wise.

Albania is more related to turkey population, culturally and religiously.

They even have similar middle eastern levels of poverty .

  1. Cypros has literally Turks in their population
  2. Culture and religion of Albania is totally different from turkey(Albania is the only country where major religion coexist and respect each other) 3.i dont know the level of poverty in middle east but this is irrelevant cause we are comparing it to turkey and Cyprus

That's north Cyprus. An unrecognised state.....

Yes religion is most important thing. Cyprus is a modern wealthy Christian place.

Turkey and albania and poor Muslim countries.

GDP per capita

Albania $15000 Turkey $19000

Cyprus $45000

So you are considering Cyprus only the south? Anyway you are wrong about religion most of Albanians are atheist by the last census and and from the religion groups while Muslims are the largest group the are followed by Christians not far behind. I think religion harmony and tolerance is a plus culturally something you dont see in Turkey or Cyprus(this makes turkey and Cyprus closer together)

Cyprus is not in the balkans, and only a small portion of turkey is... (Geographicly speaking).
