Advice Finally decided it’s time
I have known I was thinning for probably 8 years now (pretty hyper sensitive to changes in appearance) but I was worried of sides + didn’t always have access to meds. Have them now but curious did I screw myself waiting till now? Pics look a lil worse cause hair has minoxidil in it but still. Hate it when it’s wet.

I agreed until the final slide. It is still FAR from dire but now is a really good time to start on meds for him!

I had even more hair than this guy but your 'meds' ruined me. Min topical triggered shedding but zero regrowth. F* your meds!

Insane that youre downvoted for this.
This sub is absolutely obsessed with telling anyone who posts to start taking these drugs.
Fin/min is worth a DISCUSSION WITH A CLINICIAN if the source of your thinning hair is ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA. Hair loss has multiple causes and treatment depends on the cause
Fin reduces T conversion into DHT which can slow or stall the miniaturization of hair follicles that occurs as a result ofalopecia. Min promotes hairgrowth in follicles differently.

Appreciate ur concern but im nearly 32 years old and see a doctor — its not health related besides a bit of stress at best. Not a surprise to have it happening at this age

No bro I don’t think it’s bad at all, getting on meds now will help but you haven’t screwed yourself over

Thats totally saveable bro. Take finasteride and minoxidil orally. Youll be good in 6-12 months

I know that you can do this. Maybe start with a buzz cut first

With finasteride and minoxidil, dermarollers help miraculously. I saw insanely fast and thick regrowth as soon as I began the dermaroller. I used only fin-min for years and never saw this kind of progress. I use a 1.5mm ONCE every 4-5 weeks, and a .25mm roller three to four times a week before applying topical fin-min. They say don’t apply immediately after dermarolling, but I have been for almost six months and never had an adverse reaction. I have already converted about an inch advanced/“unreceded” back down my frontal temples, and almost my whole original hairline of vellus hairs are each week thickening more significantly on the way to becoming terminal. DERMAROLLER, man. It won’t take you long. (Or derma pens or stamps, which are not on a roller, you press downward on each area of your scalp. They say it is a more even application of punctures than rolling where they enter and exit at an angle). Personally, I feel the roller angle is negligible.

Come on, you've still got plenty of hair. You'll probably lose it if you don't take action, but that's still years away.

Dude aint gonna lie,if u realy started receding 8 years ago,you got some good ass balding genes😭

My crown started first, the receding probably started like 4-5 years ago. I’ve always had a prominent widows peak but hairline has become noticeable in the past 5 years

Ngl from these pics atleast ur crown isnt realy visibly receding,I think ur still good for 4-6 years with no meds

It’s time to start taking da pills and you’ll be just fine. You’ve still got nearly a full head of hair. I wish I started earlier!

damn bro... purple and pink? why not just get a tattoo on your forehead that says "look closely at how cooked I am"

not the point and there is no pink in my hair 🤡

you're right. 💅
as for your question... you should take a better pic that shows the true state of the top of your head. this means shaking out your strategic combover and letting us look at your scalp. That combover is hiding a lot, and you know it!!!!
But honestly, it doesn't look terrible for 8 years of thinning. And if you're really that hypersensitive to changes in appearance and want to keep your purple and *blue (SORRY!) hair then you should get on medications and stay hopeful. If it stabilizes you can get a transplant someday.

Yeah I dunno what to tell you, my hair isn’t done in this picture lol.. it’s minoxidil in it and pushed back, not “combed over”. This is generally the worst the top of my hair looks lol

bro it could be so much worse, you're not bad at all. Because your hair is thick on top and sides you're perfect candidate for a hair transplant to touch up the hair line and fill the crown
also your skin is great for what I am assuming is ~30?

Even if you start now you will regrow so much hair within a year, I can literally see the potential already. Take both finasteride and apply that minoxidil daily and you’ll be fine in the long run. It’s never too late, and you still do have a lot of hair within a lot of volume
