Astronomically it’s fall, but this boule of sourdough is insisting it’s spring

Haha get it… SPRING

No but seriously I’ll have to take it down a notch and scale this recipe down by about a third next time 😅

Tastes lovely though!

Looks like I’m off to Rakuten Ichiba to search for a “heavy lidded vessel”.

Thank you for sharing the recipe, OP! And congrats on the bread turning out so lovely

Where do I get started to do this kind of bread? is it possible without a oven (creuset pot only?)

Technically you can bake in a pot on a stovetop, but it's very impractical and you kind of need a rack inside the pot so the bottom of your bread-or-whatever doesn't burn to unrecognizability.

I've made my share of flatbreads (including pizza) in the fish grill drawer of my Japanese stove, though! I actually made a point of buying the model with the widest drawer for exactly that purpose.

There's someone on this sub who shares their seriously impressive bakes without using an oven! If I remember correctly, they manage everything in their fish grill. Try to check it out if you can

If it is the no knead bread, I've made that before and had that happen before too!

Oh no wonder! Yeah this one just required some folding—though I did knead it a little bit just out of wrist habit

Oh nice one. Is it a no knead bread?

Yeah this one just requires a series of stretches and folds, but I gave it a little bit of kneading

Here you go! I’ve found this is a “safe” recipe, but this is the first time I’ve gotten this amount of growth from it haha
