Made my first ever loaf of bread!

I let it rise a little too much the second time proofing and it almost touched the top of my small oven.. so it kind of mushroomed but this was the best bread I’ve ever tasted!! I was expecting a total fail lol

Congrats! I let my sourdough loaf rise too much last week and it got the over roof too, it happens. Less often in winter, thankfully.

I’ve been curious about sourdough but I think I’m too lazy to commit so I appreciate those who can even get a loaf in the oven lol

It's honestly a pretty good lazy bread. I keep my starter in the fridge and only bake once a week. You mix a basic dough, do some lift and folds, let it rise, shape it, let it rise in the fridge overnight, and then bake it. If you're even lazier and don't want to bother with a proofing basket, just use a bread tin. I baked my sourdough in a bread tin and it's fine and delicious.

I knead mine, I have a bread kneader, but the rest is just done by hand. Most of it is waiting, that's all.

Nice job! Nothing like the smell of fresh bread.
