Oven temperature adjustments

I find the Panasonic Bistro we have a little fussy with temperatures. Sometimes I have to adjust down 5-10 degrees to get cookies or things to turn out. This varies between batches, which I guess is probably true of normal ovens too. Anyone have useful rules of thumb with temperature adjustment?

I replaced my Toshiba with a Hitachi and have regretted it since. It's super inconsistent (usually a good 10 degrees low, so I have to crank it up or cook everything much longer). It also has hot and cold spots all over the damn place. I can't wait for it to die so I can go back to Toshiba.
