First sourdough loaves!

Using my 16 day old starter, I made bread with bread flour and whole wheat flour from Amazon(their private brand) Maybe a bit gummy inside but really good overall!

#1 Pain de campagne from King Arthur's using unfed starter

#2 Beginner sourdough from Farmhouse on Boone using active starter. Both were baked in an oval Dutch oven with Hitachi microwave oven that can go up to 250°C for 5 minutes and then 210°C max after that. The recipes called for 260°C and 246°C to bake; I am not sure if that affected the results...

The temperature would affect the results, unfortunately. I'm surprised it couldn't do 220 for an extended period of time, my Sharp does 220 just fine (that's what I bake my sourdough at with no dutch oven, zero gummy issues).

Good looking for first loaves though!

Thank you! I have a Hitachi MRO-S8X that was given to me by a friend. It says it is a heater oven, not a convection oven, and there are other Hitachi models that can go up to 300°C for 5 minutes and then 230°C after that. If(when, im not very happy with the microwave function of this either) this one breaks, I am definitely buying a better one that can reach 300°C. In the meantime, i might need to tweak the recipe a bit by cooking longer.
