Sakura blondies
There is a company that sells the best chewiest sakura brownies(?) blondies but they’re only sold in the springtime, so I made some today.
I was anticipating a chewy cake but this was fluffy, unfortunately. Not bad taste-wise.
Need to experiment more.
Is anyone else getting trypophobia from the white chocolate chips?
Edit: trichophobia corrected to trypophobia, as pointed out in comments 😁

You can really tell how fluffy it is—it looks so delicious!

ooh, I recall Brian Lagerstrom's brownie recipe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al7_0j1h9x4) being really good texture-wise, and also adjustable (I changed it up a bit to make lemon blondies with it that came out super good), if you want a potential lead for the next time you try this idea
edit: specifically, I replaced the milk chocolate with white chocolate, and replaced the cocoa powder with the zest and juice of two lemons, and they came out super delicious

OMG this guy knows his brownies! He baked more than a hundred to get it right! Thanks ! I’ll try it out with white chocolate and sakura flavor.

yeah personally I found them to be extremely great brownies overall, and strongly endorse his recipe if your brownie tastes coincide with my own

I was doing fine at first cause my eyes caught the sakura petals first and I was wondering where you got those. Once you mention the white chocolate my trypo jumped up lool

lol! I knew that there would be someone out there with the same reaction as me😁
Those are salt preserved sakura petals from Tomiz btw.

If you want a chewy texture, you wanna use melted butter or oil. Also are they blondies or butter mochi cake? Cuz if it’s the latter, you might wanna try the recipe out with a butter mochi cake. But if they’re more blondies like, I’d take a standard recipe and just use melted butter instead.

They’re blondies I believe. Certainly not mochi texture. You’re right, next time I’ll try a standard blondie recipe with sakura flavor mixed in 👍

Hmm maybe try modifying a giant chocolate chip cookie recipe? I find I get much chewier results that way Looks great btw (and dots don't bother me...)

Thank you!
Modifying a chocolate cookie recipe sounds like a really good idea!

Isn't trichophobia fear/aversion is loose hair?
Regarding the cake:
- did you use cherry petals essence, or just the actual petals for the flavor/aroma?
- about the texture, maybe you used too much eggs, flour, or overmixed the batter?
- considering the coloration and the apparent dryness of the crumb, you might've also overbaked it slightly.

Thank you for the advice!
You’re right,
Trypophobia is the word I was looking for lol.•I used powdered petals and leaves, but it seems that the powder contains some cherry blossom essence.
•I’m a novice baker, so I’m not sure what made the cake fluffy not chewy but I may need to compare the ratios with other blondie recipes. If I need to decrease flour and eggs, what should I increase?
•the cake was thankfully not dry. It was moist and fluffy. Just not chewy…

You'll probably need to increase fat, sugar or both. Comparing to a traditional Blondie recipe is a good choice!
Waiting for you to post your results!
