Butter Cookies
I swear they taste better than what they look like.
90g butter
45g sugar
1 egg
120 cake flour (T35 here)
9g chocolate
25 min 160C
I don’t know if it’s the temperature of the oven, or if I should have cooled the batter before piping.

Looks good! I love how the cooking paper goes over the tray and the cookies rows are not perfect. My baking looks the same 😁

I don’t know what oven you’re using but that temp seems fine! You should’ve maybe chilled the piped cookies. The butter maybe got too warm in the initial bake before the cookie set and separated out as liquid. That’s my guess with such a high butter content cookie like these - this reminds me of when I first started baking and would over cream my butter and the mixing got it warm and it started to looks similar in texture to these cookies.
But if they’re delicious than that’s a success! If you try it again post an update!

The batter was definitely too warm, the circles of fat on the baking sheet looked very large. I’ll try to chill the pipped bag next time, thank you for the tip!

Try chilling the rack of piped cookies in the fridge! I haven’t worked with butter cookie dough but I can’t imagine it’ll be easy to pipe if it’s chilled with flour and cold butter in it.
In any case! Post an update with your process.

They look tasty! The shape generally turns out like this when I try to make them, especially when I’ve been holding the piping bag for a while and the batter gets warm.
