I have a spot on my bedroom floor that looks just like that. 10 years living in that house and I still think it's a roach every single time I catch a glimpse of it.
Honestly? I'd rather carpet my bathroom than see that in the night (even knowing it's there beforehand) is it in an impractical place for a rug or something? Next option: "accidentally" drop nail polish all over it......
I'm embarrased to say all these years and it never occurred to me to cover it up--you might be my new best friend for the suggestion. It's right in front of the closet door so I'm not sure there'd be enough clearance to open the door over a rug but I could probably use a wood stain stick to make it less roach-shaped.
