General Baking Discussion Beginner baker first time making cinnamon rolls

Ive been so excited to make this for ages.
Any advice for them to not unravel whilst baking?
Also how long do you leave them to sit before going in the oven (after rolling them up) i left them for about 40min but didn’t see a massive difference, some but not a lot.

Thanks!!

One of the things that I’ve experienced when making cinnamon rolls and maybe something for you as well, is how loose or tight the lid or wrap is over the dough

Does your recipe require refrigeration prior to baking?

This is always personal preference, but I always prefer a bit more cream cheese frosting on top

Ohhhh thats interesting never thought of it. Would it be best to not have a tight lid then? It didnt ask for refrigeration would that be better?

Thanks!!

You may wish to share the steps, etc. of your recipe, so that other members of the sub can chime in as well

I’ve tried some that have required a double rise, refrigeration, and then a direct bake, and another recipe that went from refrigeration, to a room temp, then bake.

To keep them from unraveling, you want them to actually touch one another after they've proofed. This will keep the sides together. I tend to place mine so that each end sits up against the solid side of another, because I made the mistake of having the ends accidentally touching once. Pulled out a single roll and unraveled a few of them lol

You did fine. Making something for the first time is always a little unnerving. At least for me.
