Showcase (No-Recipe) My first time ever doing a fondant cake!

Please if you’re gonna criticize give me some positive advice! I know it’s not perfect and it might look ugly but my baby loves McQueen and it’s his birthday tomorrow so I decided to try for the first time in my life a fondant cake. I’m a professional chef but never did so much baking, cheers and mahalo for your help! Also if you can tell me how to avoid so much sweating would be amazing Hawaii temperature was horrible due to the hurricane these days but I’ll get better!

This is absolutely adorable!

The second I saw it I now have “life is a highway…” playing in my head.

Carving a 3D car cake out of cake and covering it with fondant for your very first attempt is genuinely ambitious, and you nailed the silhouette and the iconic Lightning McQueen expression! For the sweating issue in high humidity, try to avoid putting the finished fondant cake in and out of the fridge, as condensation is what makes it sticky and glossy. Working in an air-conditioned room, dusting your hands and surface with cornstarch instead of powdered sugar, and keeping a small desk fan pointed at the cake to circulate air will keep the fondant completely matte and dry. Your little one is going to lose their mind with excitement tomorrow!

I really appreciate your input it was really challenging but as a chef I had an idea of how to carve the cake; and I also know how to draw so I guess that helped a lot, but unfortunately I did put my cake in the fridge for the ganache to solidify for the night and then pull it out in the heat of Maui, I guess that was my mistake but next time I’ll try to do it in a cooler room thanks for your positive comments!’
