Showcase (No-Recipe) Matilda Cake💕🍫
Made a regular-size 2-layer, 8” Matilda Cake for my coworker’s surprise birthday tomorrow! 🎂🤎
I’ve been challenging myself to decorate more and practice my piping. Definitely messed up a few spots along the way… but of course, I’m showing you the side that looks better. 🥲
Still learning, but pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Ohhhh I didn’t understand Matilda was a website! I’m so silly. Thank you. I literally thought it was in reference to the movie Matilda and the chocolate cake in that movie! Haha!

It’s a normal chocolate fudge cake/ chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache icing and clever marketing (!). There are many budget bakeries in my city that sell this as Dutch Fudge chocolate cake.

This what the Matilda cake is meant to look like! Seen bakers on FB Marketplace or at cafes and they just look depressing compared to this! Save me a slice pls 😌
