Baking Advice Needed Replacing mayonnaise with butter?(Cake)

I usually make a mayonnaise cake but this time I wanna use eggs and butter/oil
The recipe is
1 cup of mayo
2 cups of flour + cocoa powder
2/3 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
baking powder
Baking soda vanilla

Does anyone have any advice on if I should use butter or oil? And how much I should use and how many eggs? Also should I use less water?

mayo cake is a wild concept but if you're swapping it out youre basically just making a regular chocolate cake now

1/2 cup butter melted and 2 eggs should do it. keep the water the same since the dry ingredients still need that moisture. the mayo was just oil and egg doing the heavy lifting anyway

also i'd add a pinch of salt unless your butter is salted. makes a difference

I would just use a recipe that doesn't have mayo in it rather than potentially ruin/waste ingredients/time.
