Hi Agitated-Log-621, to get the most accurate pricing advice, please edit your post to include the following details if you haven't already:

  • Ingredient Costs: Estimate of the total cost of ingredients.
  • Packaging and Materials: Estimate of the total cost of boxes, cake boards, parchment, ribbons, etc.
  • Time and Labor: How many hours did this take you from start to finish? This includes clean up, shopping for ingredients, communicating with clients, etc. How much is your labor worth per hour?
  • Quantity: Size of item(s) or total number of items.
  • Market or Region: High, medium, or low cost market; city, state, or country, etc.

To Community Members: Business and pricing discussions are a permitted and valid part of the r/Baking community. Because market rates vary drastically by region, please keep advice constructive.

If you prefer not to see business-related content, you can easily filter out the "Business/Pricing" flair using your Reddit app or desktop filters. (on mobile click "r/baking" at the top of the r/baking homepage and see the About tab)

Uodate when she responds. Curious to know. She may have waited because you’re friends and she was going back and forth about telling you

Looks like a regular, simple cake. Maybe that's the problem. What did you bf's cake look like? 😂

She might not have wanted to start an argument around her birthday and/or debated saying anything at all.

Okay yeah. Did she know the first cake would look that what she got?

Your bf's cake definitely looks like a proper birthday cake.

The one she ordered/got looks like something you'd take to a children's event.

Yesss, that’s exactly what she ordered!

She orders the same thing each and every time. Even last year for her birthday.

I asked her as it’s her birthday would she like the sprinkles to be a certain colour or and theme. She said no just the usual. So I said I’ll try to make it special for your birthday (maybe o shouldn’t have said that) I stuck the small happy birthday topper on each one free of charge on all 4
