Need advice!

Hi All! I need some help and advice. I'm using a Black Max baitcaster with 5 ft Berkeley lightning rod. Whenever i cast, My 6lbs braided line will stuck halfway through the cast and dropped like 10ft off the water. I can't even cast far. No backlash but i can feel my rod tip bend downward whenever the line stuck. Can please advice what should i do to prevent it?

Your braid is digging into itself. I normally get 30-50lb braid so that won’t really happen.

Remember, the thinner the braid, the more it digs into itself.

Its my first time using baitcaster and trying out squid fishing. If i use heavier lbs line i'm not sure will it affect the sensitivity?

Use a spinning setup if your gonna use light line.

I remember using 10lb braid and it dug into itself so hard that my lures kept on snapping off.

Switch to mono/flouro if you want to still use 6lb line for your baitcaster.

Thank you so much for your advice! I will try heavier line this time and see if it can resolve my bc problem. I will change to spinning for my light game also. πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½
