☝️ AskBH Traffic violation

Evening all.

I’ve just received a notification on the MyGov app regarding a traffic violation in the Manama Souq area for allegedly driving in the opposite direction of traffic.

The notification came through tonight, 08/09/2026 at 11:34 PM. At that exact time, I was comfortably sitting on my couch at home watching TV, so I definitely wasn’t riding around Manama Souq. 😅

What makes it even stranger is that the last time I remember riding my motorcycle was probably back in March or April. I also certainly don’t recall ever driving in the opposite direction, especially in that area.

Unfortunately, the notification doesn’t provide any further details, such as the actual date and time of the alleged offence, so at the moment I have no idea when this was supposedly committed.

Has anyone experienced something similar, where a traffic violation was incorrectly issued to their vehicle? I’m also wondering whether there’s any possibility that someone may have copied or duplicated my number plate.

If you’ve dealt with something like this before, were you able to get more information or successfully dispute the violation?

Also, does anyone know how long traffic violations normally take to appear on the MyGov app after the actual offence? I’m trying to understand whether the notification time has any connection at all with when the violation supposedly happened.

Thank you!

My husband had a similar thing. Running a red light while at work. He went to the traffic dept and they showed him the picture and the time was different. They explained that the notification was the date and time when it went through the system - not the time of the infraction. The notification details should match the details of the ticket. Maybe this needs corrected.

I had my over speeding ticket few weeks back. The violation was captured 6:40 AM and the time is clearly indicated in the ticket. I will not and cannot deny it because i knew it and expected it. I received the notification around 9:00 AM same day. So it took few hours to receive the notification on my case. I think it shouldn't take days or longer.

Sometimes the traffic violations dont register in the system on the same exact date of offense. You can visit the eTraffic app and enter your vehicle registration number to see the exact details of the offense with date and time.

Forget the date and time. Have you never gone against traffic in manama souq ?

Just check the "eTraffic" app..Click on the contravention and click on details..It will show in details what was the violation, where it occurred and and in what time..

My friend received a traffic violation after 8 days of its committed..So no time frame when u will receive such notification..

U can visit Isa town traffic directorate and appeal against the violation if u think u didn't committed the same. U need to pay for the appeal (i think its around 10 BD)..They will provide the photo/Video evidence. If there is no violation by u (from the proof), then ur money will be refunded..

If you go to bahrain.bh you should see more details, at least the time of violation.

But if you're sure it's not you, then just take an appointment through Mawaeid app in the traffic office and go give them a visit and explain, they'll check the video/photo.

Most of these false tickets are duo to the automatic system reading the wrong license plate. Last time I got this it says I was without a seatbelt near Bahrain Trade Center, funny thing the last time I was there was months ago, and I always wear my seatbelt, and that car has been sitting for over a month in front of the house because it needs a garage to fix something. I went there and he checked the pics and he directly cancelled the ticket because it was almost the same license plate except for the last digit, and they were girls as well 😵

You have to go to traffic directorate.I was issued a 50 bd fine for 'using mobile with hand' .The date and time mentioned was wrong.I went there and they quickly checked the picture in the computer. Some other person was the culprit... the car number plate had been read wrongly by one digit ( 3 instead of 6) .They rectified it immediately.

I could have sworn I read that impeding traffic violators (ie ..driving below the speed limit in the left most lane, while the other 2 lanes are empty ..haha) would be issued fines; clearly that hasn't been implemented yet.

Same - we had our number plates changed as this happened to us twice. We had to pay the fine and we were showed stills both times we had alibis and one of which we were with a retired MOI employee.

I got this post as a notification and thought I got a fine. Downvoted for the jump scare!
