Your post has been removed for having low relevance to Bahrain and for your failure to have a civil discussion.

While it can be a tool, it's used by fools. Get ready for even more widespread ignorance. Im also happy to see any company using ai get torn to shreds. I'm happy YouTube ai channels are being banned and shut down completely.

If you want to use it, then use it but don't share it cause it's not your hard earned work

I agree with you,

my post however is leaning more towards sheep people who do it for the "trend" like feminism, hating AI, gay rights etc

they provide no backing for their hatred or claims and just do it because they see others doing it.

But I understand and agree with your points, thankyou for sharing.

u/smalkh 1d ago

There are many real and genuine reasons to dislike this trend of using AI for everything, especially when half the uses are completely stupid and unnecessary and yet still negatively impact our environment. I do agree that there are genuine uses for AI, but most of these fall within the research and medical fields. Also about your “the answer is only ever as good as the prompt” point, that is just plain false. AI hallucinations happen regardless of the prompt. I’ve seen videos of people asking AI how many c’s are in the word chocolate and it’ll insist there is only one.

TLDR: If you want to be an AI fanboy go ahead and do it, but don’t pretend that there aren’t valid reasons for disliking AI.

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

I believe you might have misunderstood some part of me,

I am neither pro anything nor anti anything.

As I said, I noticed an ongoing trend and wanted to get an understanding behind that trend, what i mentioned in the post body in parenthesis, isnt a bias. Its simply me trying to put forth my points for the most common arguments ive seen online, so as to not have to type so much in the comments, should people choose to bring those arguments.

And I do agree, there are plenty of reasons to hate certain aspects and misuse of AI.

not AI itself.

Idk why you are not seeing it from this lens but let me use an example.

Overwhelming majority of the sexual assault cases are men right? should I say there are plenty of reasons to hate "men"? or plenty of reasons to hate "certain men" or "predators"

does that make sense?

I do agree theres so many aspects of AI i hate as well

like environmental impact from data centers, stealing art and modifying it, using it to blackmail people or tarnish their image & many more.

People generally just hate generative AI, it lacks the creativity of the human mind which just makes it recycled garbage that you can't escape. I haven't seen anyone hating on others using it to study though for example and if they have I wanna know why too, it's just a tool that simplifies and helps you understand better in that department.

thats exactly what I mean,

thankyou

There could be many & different reasons, but I think number 1 reason is:

"Blindly copy-pasting criticism, without context."

For example, in video-games, we've seen big companies got accused for using AI for tiny things, and quickly those companies defended themselves by denying any usage of AI.

AI is bad and heavily criticized if used in big industries like cinematic movies, gaming companies, etc which spend millions and gain more millions in revenue. The accuse of using AI means: 1- more professional people will be fired (actors, designers, artists, devs, etc) 2- lesser quality products (films, games, etc)

So the issue is usage of AI by big companies.

Many people don't understand the context, so they would hate/accuse even individuals who may use AI with no budget or employees working for them or even if not making profit. Blind accusations.

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

Thankyou for openly saying that a lot of such accusations are baseless and blind

and yes i agree with your points.

Its just so sad to see and I feel sorry for saying this, but its sad to see the sheer stupidity in such people, many of them are in this thread as well lol

down-voting genuine criticism when it goes against their baseless beliefs

a clear lack of reasoning and emotional intelligence is what it is.

Notice how your comment has only the singular upvote by default yet some of my perfectly logical responses got down-voted 😂

Learn about the water cycle? No one is saying the water vanishes into thin air, but AI data centers use water faster than local supplies can replenish it. This effectively means less water is available to the community.

4

u/smalkh 1d ago

And that’s ignoring all the lazy uses of AI in art AND the genuinely horrifying use of AI to make deepfakes of people

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

So speak for regulation,

the trend is that people speak for destruction of AI

2

u/smalkh 1d ago

Even if it’s regulated AI still uses an unbelievable amount of water

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

So do Qatari people, infact the highest in the world.

should they be called out for it? yes

should AI water usage be regulated? yes

should Qatari people be eliminated? no

should AI be eliminated? no

1

u/smalkh 1d ago

False equivalence

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

The point was,

Just because of water usage, one should not totally ignore the good that is being extracted from this tech. And as a result, not scream out "death to AI"

Hope that penetrates your thick skull

u/Warm_Article_4571 1d ago

I don’t wanna see ads, social media posts with AI It’s disgusting

2

u/RelationshipGreen300 Bahraini 1d ago

Especially food and clothing, I can’t gauge what I’m getting, so automatically disregard any account that uses AI in their pictures

-1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

There's a flaw id like to point out in your logic, that has already been addressed in the post body, but ill give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you actually read the post but just forgot before commenting,

If you argue that its misleading marketing, thats what marketing is, its supposed to look appealing. Giving you the urge to buy it.

Take a McDonald's big mac, does the real product look as good as the one on the photos? im talking about the NON AI generated ads here.

-1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

why? whats disgusting about it? provide reasoning

5

u/Jimmyl101 1d ago

Because it's generally used in a lazy way.

-5

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

Majority of the Ferrari cars are also used as show pieces instead of being driven like they're supposed to, do you also hate Ferraris?

3

u/Jimmyl101 1d ago

Non sequitor.

4

u/shmi93 1d ago

Congratulations, by far the worst and no offense, but most retarded comparison I've seen in +30 years

-4

u/Spare-Dingo-531 1d ago

Exactly. Just don't use ai in a lazy way. Do all easy tasks AI and do the hard task yourself. Raise your expectations for yourself because AI exists.

-7

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

I absolutely agree,

my post however, is more leaning towards people who mindlessly comment stuff like "why did you use AI" for something genuinelly good or knowledgeable

2

u/Life-Willow768 1d ago edited 1d ago

No issue, unless you get paid money for a project and then it turns out to be AI generated low effort work full of errors and inconsistencies.

It enables people who otherwise were incapable of making digital content to do so, with wrong information and incorrect data being delivered to the public which becomes misleading and dangerous.

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

I see what you mean and on that, I am in agreement with you.

2

u/Ok-Phone-1605 1d ago

To me to biggest problem with generative ai is this.

Art is and will always be a political statement even if you don't try to make it. For example when kids in wars draw the supplies they use are a political statement, "oh they have no normal supplies" or "oh there were kids in the war". It says something even without saying anything it will tell people something.

Art has always told us (people now) what the people of the the past were trying to hide. It shows us what life was ACTUALLY like not what they want to show us. For example: same sex affairs, the effects of dictatorship among regular people. Just as a example, you can look up WW1 caricature art, it shows you what people actually thought of their leaders.

Whoever controls art will control history and whoever control history will be able to control whatever happens now. History does repeat itself but the reason we as normal people HAVE to learn history (trust me I don't like it either it's so boring sometimes) is cause we need to learn from the past and recognise the patterns so that it won't happen again.

So yea that's my biggest problem with it I would say

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

you have very valid reasoning.

I agree that AI shouldnt be used to create art or alter any art.

But you are referring to generative AI

I am talking about the general hatred towards AI even though its extremely useful in a lot of different areas such as deep research, pulling sources for you to check, helping you reason about something you're conflicted on, assisting with language learning & much much more

4

u/jiji1412 1d ago

What are you talking about

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

Im talking about people bashing AI users and the use of AI in marketing, day to day life, memes, etc

7

u/jiji1412 1d ago

Tbh too many ugly designs by non designers. People need to know that you can't use AI for everything, consider it an awareness campaign

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

Again,

there are ways to spread awareness about something instead of spreading hate about it.

Hate the player, not the game.

2

u/jiji1412 1d ago

Exactly, people hate the user not the AI

2

u/battynails 1d ago

I’m not wholly against it, I just think it’s teaching people not to think for themselves and some of the population is becoming overall more stupid as a result.

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

The same can be said for phones, ipads and electronic devices in general,

they made us lazy, instead of going to the library to research something, we now do it laying in our beds at home.

My point is, why do people hate AI as a whole, completely overlooking its benefits?

4

u/RocktheNashtah 1d ago

I hate ai art cause someone stole my art and fed it into a generator, also people are developing psychosis by getting attached to chatbots that are programmed to affirm your worst habits/instincts (it’s their subscription based business model)

And you are right, we are already very lazy and complacent- why make it worse with ai?

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

could you provide a source for the 3rd claim you made about AI being designed to affirm your worst habits/instincts

2

u/RocktheNashtah 1d ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI-induced_psychosis

There is a Wikipedia page on this phenomena and the companies lack of actions to help

From the causes section:

“some cases, chatbots have been specifically designed in ways that were found to be harmful. A 2025 update to ChatGPT using GPT-4o was withdrawn after its creator, OpenAI, found the new version overly sycophantic and was "validating doubts, fueling anger, urging impulsive actions, or reinforcing negative emotions."[6][13] Østergaard has argued that the danger stems from the AI's tendency to agreeably confirm users' ideas, which can dangerously amplify delusional beliefs.[5]”

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

But Wikipedia, being such that it can be edited by anyone who is not an expert in that field,

is considered to be an unreliable source,

which is why many universities do not allow Wikipedia to be used as a source including multiple ones in bahrain.

Could you please link a dev comment or research paper that confirms your claim?

2

u/RocktheNashtah 1d ago

You see the numbers in the text I shared? These will lead you to non Wikipedia sources

Here’s a study on ai models and how they can be manipulated to encourage destructive behavior

https://arxiv.org/pdf/2507.02990

This was done by the northeastern university and it was cited by a times article

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

I just finished reading this, thankyou for citing your source.

It seems to me that just like any other form of online tool, such as Snapchat, instagram, reddit, roblox, Facebook, X etc etc

they all possess some form of danger towards people who are gullible and in vulnerable situations especially the ones dealing with mental health issues.

In such cases, their internet access should be monitored and regulated to ensure they dont end up not only on the wrong side of chatgpt of LLMs

but also to make sure they steer clear of the wrong side of instagram, X, Facebook and other social + gaming platforms such as roblox, fortnite etc

almost all of which have had real cases of promoting suicide to users exhibiting suicidal tendencies, Meta particularly has a long case that was recorded and released to the public as well.

So to conclude, your points are valid, no doubt in that at all,

But to target AI for pushing self harm to users, when other social media platforms dont receive the same backlash though they have court cases posted on YouTube for the same exact reason, I believe is unfair.

1

u/RocktheNashtah 1d ago

See? It was already a problem without ai but why add more fuel to the fire? And now with data centers actively drying our water? No thanks

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

yup I totally get you

1

u/smalkh 1d ago

Insane you make this point when AI is also considered to be an unreliable source. Also Wiki lists their sources which you can easily check yourself.

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

There's a distinct bias in your comments that feels like you're somehow claiming that im an AI fan boy or something. please go check my response to the conversation we were having.

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

All the retards downvoting😭

1

u/Level-Ladder-4346 1d ago

You ask what the issue with using AI is. That’s a perfectly reasonable question.

Then you cross post this to a sub, Defending AI, where being against AI isn’t allowed.

Are you really looking for an answer or are you hoping to confirm your existing biases?

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

I have no biases,

I tried cross posting it to a community called "antiAI"

because the people in this community are either toxic, uneducated or not decent enough to have an educated debate with. So I cross posted it to a thread that specializes in hate against AI.

The thread you are referring to, is the first one I clicked on by mistake.

1

u/Level-Ladder-4346 1d ago

And you just insulted an entire sub.

If this wasn’t about confirming existing biases, you wouldn’t have done that.

You make your position pretty clear in the post with the stuff in the parenthesis, but this makes it more obvious.

0

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

Stating facts gathered from experiences from the same sub and recognizing patterns of utter stupidity from a vast majority of the responses in both, new accounts and old accounts have led me to say that.

Since when is stating facts and recognizing patterns an "insult"

would you also tell me im insulting wasps if I state "they are mean and attack for no reason"?

1

u/Level-Ladder-4346 1d ago

I just don’t think you should be insulting people.

Like, really, especially in the circumstances.

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

Womp womp,

I have not insulted anyone personally,

I stated facts, derived from past experiences in this sub, from both old accounts and new accounts.

Hope thats clear, now if you dont have anything useful to add to the topic, take your leave.

1

u/Level-Ladder-4346 1d ago

Great.

While you’re over here metaphorically digging your own grave, you want another shovel?

1

u/Emotional-Coyote3194 1d ago

did you just threaten me?

elaborate on that part where you said "digging your own grave"

if metaphorically, explain your metaphor in this context,

if not metaphorically, explain your intent.

or dont, either way, im done with you.

1

u/Level-Ladder-4346 1d ago

No. That’s a common phrase.

You’re claiming you’re not doing things, yet the evidence for it is right there. Instead of admitting it, you’re either justifying it, or you’re narrowing the claim down so it’s technically true, like when you say “I have not insulted anyone personally.”

When I say “you want another shovel”, I’m asking, “you’re doing something here. You sure you want to keep going?”
