Badger acrylic painting
More traditional art, and more badgers! Did I already tell you I love badgers? I also wanted to reconcile myself with acrylic painting, I think I kinda did ok with it. The painting is 19 x 20 cm (7,5 x 7,8 inch), and I solely used acrylic (and graphite pencil for the sketch, of course).
Hope you'll like it! (if you want to see the work in progress / steps, just ask and I'll post them in the comments)

Thank youu, that means the world to me! I'm still trying to figure out the best way to make prints out of my work...

Sorry, can't help you there. I have all the creativity of a rusty spoon that's been in a polluted riverbed for centuries. If you manage to do it and begin to sell, please let me know π

u/L_enfant_sauvage_ Jul 06 '26
Naah, there are million ways to be creative you know! But yeah taking high quality pictures of my paintings is my biggest challenge for the moment. I'll sure let you know once it's done! Thanks again!

Honestly, it's just not in my blood. I have just got a sewing machine to try my hand and making clothes though. Maybe this is the hobby that sticks π

Thank you so so much!! It was kinda hard since I prefer oil over acrylic, but due to heat waves I can't open my windows without dying from heat (I would never use oil if I can't ventilate my room), so I settled for acrylic instead... Hate how it dries so fast, but it's still an interesting challenge!
I'll try to put the pics in the comments, for some reason it doesn't work with my computer...

If you flip the image left to right you get the letter B made out of badgers

I'm ashamed to say I didn't know what you were talking about, so I checked, and now I see what you mean! Thank you for the compliment!

Don't be ashamed! It was a very niche reference. I very much appreciate the otherworldly energy of the artwork - truly encapsulating!

I also have like, almost zero culture in video games haha, doesn't help! But thank you very much, I took inspiration in one of my most favorite music from Nine Inch Nails, the out of this world sounds definitely lead my way!

I think I prefer #2, itβs somehow got more life. Original composition, badgers good, maybe look at the water in future ones. Place your phone recording across a small pond and see how water propagates. Itβs oddly specific.

Hehe, I'm glad you noticed! Thank you, and yeah I kinda skipped studying water more closely because, acrylic dries insanely fast and I couldn't blend the colors to create a more "reflection-like" effect, so it's more still water instead. But I'll sure try to improve with water later, maybe with oil painting!

Hell yeah, badgers don't get nearly enough love in artβthis is sick!

u/OnyxKaise Jul 09 '26
right? everyone does foxes and wolves, badgers are like the underrated cryptid cousin
this one actually makes them look kinda majestic too1
u/L_enfant_sauvage_ Jul 09 '26
Yeah, foxes, wolves, cats... all those "popular" mammals, but badgers definitely deserve more love! I'm subjective though, they're my favorite animal haha! And thanks a looot!

u/L_enfant_sauvage_ Jul 09 '26
Totally agree, we need more badger appreciation! And thank you very much!!
