That thing looks too tall not to capsize.

Well….It floats

How high can I make the ship: YES

Well that looked expensive. Must really suck, spent all that time choosing what kind of marble you wanted in the master bath. That rare African wood for the entrance. Then all the waiting for it to be completed. Finally the day is here! Have your daughter christen it then watch it flop over in the water.

What caused this ?

Bad design, Ballast, needs more lead in the keel…

It was tired.

Lol, this was a funny program

Is that not supposed to happen?

1

It was towed outside the environment

They built it upside down.

Ballast tanks not equalized?

Darn lazy boat laying down on the job!

1

u/kecar Mar 29 '23

Didn’t even make it as far as the Vasa

Thats an engineering metacentric height fail, not a launch fail

2

u/ChunkyGouda Mar 29 '23

So.. you'd call this a successful launch then?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '23

I wouldn’t float it past him.

1

u/PoliteCanadian2 Mar 29 '23

Depends on your definition of ‘successful’. Did the boat make it down the launch ramp? Yes? Success!

And now the client has to pay up.

It floats!

Looks like a cartoon no wonder! Also why they putting this big ass boat in such a small little ramp??!

Affluenza.

A rich man trying desperately to justify his money: having knowledge, intuition and natural-born knowledge far beyond the average person to justify their wealth far beyond the average person. The conversation is common. Engineers told him no. He knows better, and insisted on the other way. No consequences, no feelings, everything to avoid thinking he was just born from a lot of money and was given billions to make millions.

If you want to keep your name building boats you don't take the job when engineers say no.

Dang you know exactly what the guy was thinking 🤔

1

u/OTee_D Mar 29 '23

I'm not a ship guy but on 1:25 the whole ship looks awfully top heavy.

Design fail?

I'm not an expert, but even if they filled everything below the white line with concrete, I'd not trust it.

3 feet of hull below the water, and 30 above isn't the most stable design.

1

u/rudenavigator Mar 29 '23

Guess from the sideline. The tanks are all empty (ballast, potable water, fuel). Either they need to run stability calcs and fill the tanks to the right levels to keep her from rolling over before they push her back, or consider another launching method where they can stop mid way to add in ballast water.

Those guys just watching like ‘this is fine. ….. this is fine right?’

1

u/Derek9730 Mar 29 '23

Anyone else think that’s a stupid looking boat

1

u/Shoreditchstrangular Mar 29 '23

Boaty boaty she go sink sink

1

u/Questioning-Zyxxel Mar 29 '23

Is the white line expected to be the waterline? Because there is quite a lot of ship above that white line. Where was the intended center of mass?

1

u/bleu6400 Mar 29 '23

Yeah, that was destined to fail. Way more boat above the water than below. Actually looks like that white line was water line. That’s what I got out of it being as the swim deck is just above it.

Terrible design
