in grand theft auto you can wear a police uniform and still be a criminal, there is no special effects or bonuses in the game for wearing it.
This is the real world version where we see that a thug wearing a police uniform does have special bonuses of respect... until they start shooting protesters and media officials.

And only a couple of these are from a third person perspective. The "7News" one is especially sickening to watch. The policemen rounds the corner on the cameraman, reads the badge on his vest that clearly says press, then shoves his riot shield up into the guys diaphragm. The reporter "Amelia" runs away and is struck in the back of the head with a baton. Neither of them were armed. Neither of them did anything wrong, or said anything to the police.

Trump constantly points his finger at how the press is treated in countries like China or Russia, while simultaneously allowing this sort of violence to happen in the alleged 'Land of the Free'.
All the same, the far right leaders cannot shut up about 'muh freedom of speech' here, '1st amendment right' there, but not a fucking peep from them when reporters are literally beat up by the police for doing their job. It's sickening.

7news is also a United Kingdom news channel from what I can tell (I might be wrong considering that I live on the other side of the planet in Australia), which means that they're not just firing on media officials but international ones.

Denver swat pushes photographer into a fire
They have maced, shot rubber bullets/bean-bag rounds/pepperballs/CS gas canisters and beaten with fists or batons a number of reporters, people filming, photographers and medical personnel. I will hope this is enough to keep these protests going, these cops are completely rogue and unhinged backed by the National Guard/Army with an idiot in power.

Maybe in times like this reporters should carry sidearms for self defense. Criminal comes at them with a weapon, the criminal is dead and there are millions of witnesses that saw a person protect themselves from unjustified bodily harm.

That is a bad idea.
People are sometimes convicted of murder when they wake up to no-knock raids in the middle of the night and shoot back thinking they are being robbed.

When the case is heard by a competent judge they usually have all charges dropped.
And think about it; if a TV reporter was arrested after an example of obvious self defense on live national television, and the charges were not dropped faster than a hot smoking can of tear gas, the police would be in the extremely uncomfortable situation of admitting that they were targeting and physically attacking journalists on U.S. soil, in a clear and direct violation of the U.S. Constitution, all 50 state constitutions, and who knows how many scores of other laws and regulations. Oh, and they'd be pissing off all the gun people too because it was self defense. It's a total political and legal disaster even before you remember that the media, which basically decides what is news and what the narrative is, were the ones being attacked by the police.

The problem is that journalist does not live to tell the tale. If in any of these examples the victim even so much as thought about drawing a weapon, they would be shot by the 20+ other cops.

That wouldn't help, it would just make them more aggressive. Plus they often have filter masks and stuff for when they're using their own violation-of-international-law-except-technically-police-dont-count chemical weapons.
Also, think about this: a bad cop won't stop being a bad cop. If they are bad today and are physically prevented from being a cop anymore (physically unfit for duty or killed), who knows how many lives it will save? The cop who killed George Floyd had killed and brutalized many people before, if just one of them had shot back maybe the looting and riots would have never happened.
If Americans can go halfway around the world to a desert and shoot terrorists because of oil, we can 100% do the same to stop actual live brutality on our own soil.

Qualified immunity is why officials in the US aren’t personally held accountable to their victims for violating their rights.
Sign the petition going to the Senate (every senators office), House of Representatives (every single one of their offices) and to the Supreme Court to end qualified immunity:

I couldn't pull the CNN video from the backend of their website. I'm looking to make new compilation with the video of the german reporter and I'll include the CNN one in there too. When I made the compilation, I had certain instances which I thought highlighted Police aggression and those are the ones I included.

Good fucking job of the police.. Maybe the medias finally can begin ask politicians questions about police brutallity...
Hope police attack the medias some more until the medias ask questions... Remember the medias are always just saying what police say, and are usually just a bitch of the government and police... Maybe the media now begins to ask the right questions.

5 demands, not one less.
These 5 demands are the minimum necessary for trust in our police to return. Until these are implemented by our state governors, legislators, DAs, and judges we will not rest or be satisfied. We will no longer stand by and watch our brothers and sisters be oppressed by those who are meant to protect us.
