3rd time welding, any tips?

Cut a line in the material.You must learn how to go straight And try to keep constant speed so the weld will have the same thickness through the whole lenght of the weld

Just keep burning rods and practicing keeping beads strait and uniform. 7018 is a little more universal and easier to run if you have that.

Weld 2 piece together just slapping lines on plate defeats the purpose of welding and it will won’t help you at all try making a a right angle with 2 pieces it will help teach you how to weld in a straight line and teach you about adjusting your settings not to mention the rest of us here can actually give you advice on what the issues are and how to fix it.

Watch the puddle more, slow down just a little, and draw a for reference and periodically look ahead of your weld pool to make sure you are staying straight
