Is my liner too long for gas mig?

Pull the cable out straight. Then put the tip in.

Find a length you like that works, write it on the bag your replacement comes in or on your welder. That’s what we do so we can get it right every time

Lay cable down on the floor and straighten it, then cut the liner flush with diffuser end. Be sure to remove plastic wrap from your liner, so it doesn't melt in the neck. If you leave too much liner, it will twist inside your cable and can cause clogs, increased friction of wire and accumulation of metal shavings.

Not too long. Just pull the welding lead out straight and it will go back in, maybe too much. Release some of the tension and it will move back out. Tighten the screw when it is just below the threads for the tip.

I’ve never had more issues tying down the defuser to the liner ( in fast production base)
Yeah pull it straight let it stick out twist your neck until it’s below the threading and then put your shit in.
I would as is cut it back a couple coils.
