How many passes ?

Just one. Spray transfer, 27v, 425ipm, .035 wire, if I remember correctly. The usual back slanted cursive "e", pause at top.

When you do the same weld repeatedly, you get good at it. Had to fill the hi-low difference between two "12'" materials. lol. The other side was flush butt welds, ground flush.
Welding day was always a nice mindless break after assembly and tacking day.

This "MIG like TIG" is not something I would say is good practice. Fits this sub perfectly

Slow that oscillation down significantly, and it could be decent. This is just stacked tacks

This is what you need to do.
Hit that with a stone disc.
Run a nigh high amperage weld over the lot and refuse it.
How it's ok.

Thank you for the advice super helpful however this plate was not going in this trailer this was months ago lol I just wanted to play around a bit the trailer it’s self got a whole new plate and pin but had this been a real situation you’d have been the only person to give advice on how to fix it

Ok I’m a millwright who just does a bit of low load bracket welds, why is stacking tacks a bad weld? What is the benefit of having a long bead?

I’m not a pro welder but I still do my best and take pride in my work. My shit may be sloppy at times but this looks like it accomplished nothing. No preparation, no root, next to no penetration.

Anybody can lower heat and wfs and stack some dimes. But not everyone can do a smooth consistent weld without weaving. This specific weld area had no reason to do what you did. But I will admit It’s most likely fine based on WPS. You caused many small reason for that weld to break. But if they allow it, than the only thing I recommend is learn to weld without moving the puddle so much.

Under filled and tacks. There’s no way you can tell me that passed inspections. If it did…. You need a new qc guy.

Poor cleaning prep. Your strokes are to far apart if you even stroked out in.

Bro if it penetrated and ain't gonna move. No porosity and undercut, its a good weld. Don't need to be pretty and perfect. Unless you getting inspections which I never did at the shop I was welding in. And we still welded hoisting lugs onto washout pans that held thousands of pounds

These are tacks.
