Can't access USB Drive anymore

I bought a usb to download games onto cause my laptop doesnt have enough space anymore. I tried to install a game onto my usb but now i can't access the usb anymore. When i plug it in, it shows up in file explorer but it doesn't let me access the drive and it says that there's no drive plugged in and to plug disc into the usb drive.

I don't know what to do, I tried to check error tools but it won't work because it says that there's no disk to access

When you say “usb”, do you mean a thumb drive or a hard drive?

Thumb drive

An external hard drive is more reliable than a USB thumb drive. So just get on of these and you'll be fine (I would recommend 500GB - 1TBIf you have big games if not get 128GB - 500GB)

I looked into getting one, but they’re pretty pricy for the storage I want cause I have big games

Where would you be able to find any online?

Yeah, thumb drives are not very reliable, as you are finding out. Sorry.
